Taproom
Got a question about our taproom? You'll likely find the answer here. Our Taproom Is a Community Space.
Located in the middle of Downtown Winnipeg at 155-A Fort St, we first opened to the public in December 2022 and have been slinging pints and sharing beers ever since.
Our taplist is ever-rotating, featuring 16 beers ranging from the crispiest of lagers to the massivest stouts and everything in between. We’re a small batch brewery, focused on giving our customers the best taproom experience and the best selection of beers that we can. To that extent, most of our products are exclusive to our taproom and not available anywhere else. So if you want to get your hands on all these tasty batches, you’re going to have to come pay us a visit.
If you’re planning to come down, there are a few questions you might have. If there’s something we haven’t covered, feel free to contact us anytime.
What beers do we have on tap?
We have a 16-tap menu that rotates on a mostly-weekly basis, so you’re sure to find something new almost every time you visit. We tend to keep a few core pours consistently, but even those come and go. Scroll down or click here to check out our current taplist.
Can you buy DMC beer to go at the taproom?
You bet! We have a couple of big beer fridges that are typically stocked full of cans to take home. Just like our draught selection, you’ll find cans of beer in our fridge that you won’t find anywhere else. In fact, the bulk of our can sales are out of our taproom as we don’t distribute them to many places. If you see something you like, make sure you grab it because it likely won’t be around for long. Make sure you stock up while you can!
Do we serve anything that isn’t beer?
While we are primarily a beer producer and our first love is always beer, we are happy to carry a selection of products that allow us to serve customers that don’t prefer or can’t consume beer.
Made in-house here at DMC by Brat Cat Mead Co, we feature a rotating selection of honey-based products on draft. They’re a delicious, light, and gluten-friendly option. We also carry locally made cider from our friends at Dead Horse Cider Co which are both gluten-free and vegan.
For our non-alcohol drinking friends, we also carry a selection of alcohol-free craft beer in addition to sodas and locally-made kombucha.
What are our hours?
Monday – Wednesday: 12:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Thursday – Saturday: 12:00 pm – 11:00 pm
Sunday: 12:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Some holidays and special events impact these hours, so check our social media for the latest news. Typically during Jets evening games, we stay open until 11:00 on Monday-Thursday and 12:00 midnight on Friday-Saturday.
Do we offer food?
We don’t operate a kitchen, but have a small snack menu with chips, nuts, cheezies, and dried local sausage, and we offer hot snacks like Cilantro’s samsosas and Primo’s Deli knishes. We have frequent pop-ups by talented local producers – check our event calendar and social media for more details on those. If, in the event we don’t have something that tickles your fancy and you’re feeling peckish, we also allow our customers to bring their own food in – we will even have some good suggestions that support our Downtown neighbourhood friends.
On Jets home game nights, our friends Freebirds Kitchen are popping up to offer pre and post-game eats in the taproom. Their menu is always rotating, but expect gameday favorites like bannock burgers, nachos, NDN tacos, and more.
Are kids allowed in the taproom?
Yes! We love when families come to visit us. We have snacks and canned drinks to keep the younger ones fed, and we have a small selection of games and activities.
Can my dog come in with me?
Unfortunately, non-service animals are not permitted in our establishment as per Manitoba Health code. When our seasonal patio is in operation we’re happy to have well-behaved furry friends hang out there, though.
Wait, you have a patio?
Yes we do! Or at least we do for half the year. During the warmer months (May – October, roughly) we have a cute little patio that runs along our building on Fort St. Come sit under an umbrella, listen to some tunes, and enjoy some delicious craft beer in the heart of Downtown Winnipeg.
