Tasting Notes

The secret to good stout is (surprise, surprise) all in the malt. We balance the gentle nutty qualities of Maris Otter base malt with a huge spectrum of specialty malts – from mid to high-range crystals to Carafa Special to roasted barley. The result is a symphony of dark chocolate, coffee, caramel, toffee, and dark dried fruit. Flaked oats add a smooth, creamy body while our preferred yeast strain leaves a slight residual sweet fruitiness that rounds out the package.
